This month the Kindergartners will learn how to predict what happens next in a story in Reader’s Workshop. Along with prediction, the students will keep practicing character development and determining what these characters are doing in their stories. Reader’s Workshop is an integral part of our Language Arts program. Everyday we have a read-aloud and practice these skills. The students are also learning new "high frequency" words that they will eventually know how to read and write independently.
In Math, we’ll continue making ABC patterns, counting and writing numbers up to 30 with a lot of focus on the teens, which sometimes can be tricky. In Science, we will begin learning about trees and their life cycles. We will be going on a leaf hunt, making leaf imprints, and sorting leaves by shapes and colors to make collages.
